page 70-finished
After reading more and more of this book its beggining to become confusing at some parts. I still try too comprehend what is being read, Im slowly but surely making progress. The setting of the story takes place in a 3d and 4d world, where theirs creatures gloating around changing every second. But not just anyone can tap into this world, you have to have had experience or enter it with someone who knows about it. Omar who lives next door from heather is considered to be pretty weird at school, and at home. Heather becomes drawn to Omars behavior and wants to know whats really wrong with him. When things start happening to Heather she starts to get angry and confused, every thing begins to reverse. One day Omar reverses her homework back, and this is where the whole story takes an immense turn for the worst.

Time Machine, by H.g Wells.
I have only gotten around page 9, but my impression of the book is good so far. What impressed me in the beginning was dicton... Words that you need a dictionary to know. And the conversation thats opened with the book is very intelectual. It was being explained that time was a 4rth demension upon a three demensional figure, which I found a little disturbing when considering to try and find it myself. Its something I wouldnt have the patience for, but the main scientist spoke of it as if he was still looking for it. He seems like the perfect guy to get stuck in an extremly dangerous time zone. Yet seems smart enough to go to a safe time zone. The epilougue at first lead me to think that the time machine was bad idea, and I think that the big message at the end of the book will be to not create a time machine...
In terms of the genre, this book seems to be a good science fiction piece so far, but it's very much so more scientifical, than fictional. And the fact that Wells had the type of imagination that can come up with a 4rth demension on a 3D figure, and its the time demension. I dont really think its possibal to determine... Yeah, a 2D figure has a findable 3rd demension(follow me), but it has more than one... And theres no way youll find more than one 4rth demension, if you even find any. Therefore Wells thoery is mathamatically incorrect. However the genre of science fiction shall make you think past your bottom. That should be a characteristic of science fiction.
When I finish reading this book Ill probably be smarter. All the scientific properties can jumble your brain if you dont think about it. And the more people think, the smarter they become. I'm not sure what Ill think about, but I sure hope its interesting. With the impression that the book left on me, I think it will be interesting. Log off

THE BOY WHO REVERSED HIMSELF(response 1)
The book I choose to read is called The Boy Who Reversed Himself by William sleator. It is a science fiction genre that really takes you into a fantasy world. MY first impression on this book was it was going to be boring and to childish. After reading more and more I have gained more interest in the book. This book relates to me in a way because it brings you into a world where Iv always either wondered about or always wanted to go to. The author paints pictures ,explaining in such good details to the reader whats actually going on. After reading this book I sometimes have too tell my self this is only a book, and things like this cant really happen. The author also makes you wonder about people who are always quiet , and if they are actually from somewhere else lol!!. So far I have read about 70 pages due to fact that the book is only about 150 pages long I am going at an excellent pace. I plan on reading more of this book and expanding my imagination while doing so.

ENDERS GAME-ORSON SCOTT CARD(response 1)
This book is called Enders Game.So far the book is kinda hitting the point of science fiction it has its futuristic points and some points that hit it may take place in the near future. The books main character is a kid named Ender who at this point is living a life in the shadow of being a third. But he's young and maybe throughout the book I hope he gets more mature through the story.Ender has a brother(Peter) who shows a hate side for Ender but also shows a caring side for his little bro. Also Ender has a sister named Valentine, shes a sweet girl who saves her little brothers life.So far the book shows future things, fights, and almost an early death. The book has a nice beginning that makes me wanna ot put the book down, BUT IF I DIDNT I WOULDNT SLEEP... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Science Fiction
Our group chose Science Fiction for our genre. Reason being is its immense capability of its authhors (like H.G Wells/Time Machine) imagination. Science fictions characteristics include: fictional settings such as space, or planet nebula. Often will be based on scientific principals. Even alien talk is common among science fiction. Its a good chioce due to the amount of options within it. Star Wars, Time machine, etc. Thats why people read it everyday, its full of imagination gone wild. And the world owes alot to science fiction. Especially Star Trek, and the gadgets that led inventors to invent them. Science Fiction will never lose its ability to influence new things, strait from an authers imagination.

Strong responses. Even though the last one is short, I tend to agree with your conclusions. Is anything lost though? Do you get a sense of setting? (And if not, is it even important that you do?)

Good start to that last response. It sounds like you are trying to analyze Brian's actions. I need you to go a bit further and be a bit more focused. Try using one of those questions. In a book where setting is so important some real insight can be gained by considering that element.

Candace, I like that in your responses you try to reach to explain things that are difficult. Keep up the good work. Just reread your work before hitting publish. It might will you identify holes in your discussion that you can fill in.

Well dude, hope you enjoyed Perks. It's a great book. Try to vary your responses next time. You start to talk about different stuff in your responses, but keep coming back to the same thing. Anyway, I think we covered that territory already.
