Heart on My Sleeve is a fictional novel but the way they tell the story is alot different then most books you usually read. The whole story is told threw the character's personal e-mails, i.m's, and letters back and forth between eachother. It gives you a more personal view on the characters. You learn more about them from what they tell eachother than you would if a narrator was telling the story because you get alot of the narrator's point of view which kind of distracts you from the rest of the story. Also what you write in emails and i.m's is sometimes is more personal than what you say out load so by using this form you get more insight on the characters than you normally would.

HATCHET pg56-118
In this part of the story Brian has made his mark in the practice of survival. He has a fire and somewhere to live.Making fire isn't as easy as it seems, rubbing two twigs together dosent cut it.To make his fire he used two rock, twigs, and his breathe. His new home is made of old trees and a steady foundation. No warm, cozy bed just the cold sand near the shore where he arrived. Also during the story he try's to find another source of food.He had his eyes on the prize FISH.But his plans were put to an end so he suck to the mysterous eggs he found. Some other events happened like the encounter with the bear while he was going to pick berry's.Also he got close to being saved because while getting some supply's he heard an airplane and tried his best to make smoke signals but it didnt work. But the book so far is pretty good and as i read i wonder..........WILL HE EVER GO BACK INSIDE THE PLANE AND RETREIVE THE PILOTS EMERGENCY KIT????????

HATCHET pg 34-56
In this section of the book brian has landed inside a lake and is in pain but glad for life.He thinks about everything that could of been thought of.Which brought up a lot of questions.Like who was the blonde haired guy his mom was with? and why didnt they think of how he would feel if they seperated? But while in the middle of nowhere Brian is finding ways to survive. He's eating berry's for food and drinking water for fluids. He's using his memory and common sence to survive and maintain balance.
HATCHET pg 1-34
In the bool it is real.On the way to visit his father and a dramatic event occured.THE PILOT HAD A HEART ATTACK.But during the flight the pilot gave Brian a quick lesson on how to fly.So Brian took those lessons he learned and put it to use and was also trying to contact help. This part of the book to me is the big turning point. This is the part of the book that makes me wanna keep reading. In this part of the book Brian really shows his survival skills and the self of steem he dosent have.
Chicago(post 5)
The story Chicago has many visuals of symbolism, every since the beginning of the book theirs been nothing but lots of symbolism. For example, Blacky sometimes goes off into a dreaming mode, where as he imagines what he is being told. which gives the reader a even better example of whats going on in the novel. The language the author uses also helps, its written as if a real 11 year old is is talking . It can sometimes get annoying because of the lack of language skills, then it just back into a mature reading level. Sometimes the symbols can be to visual, it can give off too much information. For example Blacky gets molested and tells what happened to the nurse. The author tends to tell too clear of a detail, where as you cant believe what you've just read. overall the symbolism is a great part of the novel when it wants to be.
the perks of being a wallflower by chbosky
This book has an immense ability of reminding me of my life... In the first letter, a complement went to someone for not sleeping with people just because they can. Malley, you might see the connection between the book and I on that one! But theres more. Chbosky hides himself from us... I dont hide myself, however, I do know some hybrinators. People that dont want to be seen, but because I see them, maybe its the reason I thout id learn Chboskys ID. Who knows... Its the last blog, and to be honest, I dont even want to know who he is in the story anymore. But it was a good book, and i may recommend it, depending upon whos to read it. tony F.
Chicago (post 4)
Blacky now has someone who he can truly call his friend. Margret and Blacky have had many conflicts some alone and some together. I think that their will be many more to come, the two plan on getting everyone who had messed with them back for all the pain that has been caused. It seems as if it will only cause more problems in the future, because Blacky and Margret are already outkast so they will probably not be taken seriously. Blacky seems to be a follower rather than a leader which can also be a reason why he seems to find trouble or trouble finds him. With no guidance at home Blacky must take care of himself, and this shows further in the novel. He doesnt shower nor change his clothes his appearance plays a big part in his daily struggles, but it doesnt seem to bother him.

As i read the book I see that the settings rarely run outside of school, or the narrorators home. I feel there should be more places of interest. With more enviornment, theres more to speak about. However its limited to the dinner table conversation, which by the way is munipulated by Chbosky to hide his identity, as is everything slse. Tony F.

Chicago (Blacky)
The more I read this I find myself wanting to read more. Each page brings something new every time, the auther truly captures a 11 year olds language. While at the same time capturing a more mature language, the two together makes an excellent book. The character blacky in the story is blind to the fact that he is a victim in society. Whether hes at school or at home, he is still an outcast. Theirs one person he can count on and thats a new friend my the name of Margret. The two have similar issues they both are considered losers and are constantly under a microscope at school. The two team up and fight back and promise each other to make others pay for all the pain that has been caused.

perks of being a wallflower, by stephen Chbosky
Throughout I have learned many identities in this book. But what I want to know is WHY? The author says he wants his identity protected by the code names used... But it seems obvious that Stephen is the main character telling the story; However the man wants himself to stay unknown by every reader, so why should his ID smack you in the face so conclusively. If I could ask Chbosky any questions, they'ed all be about identities around the main player, because with that info I could tell if the authors the main character writting the letters, or just a bystander mentioned in only one letter. Heart On My Sleeve [[character relation]]
I really like this book. Its almost like reading friends instant messages that they sent you to tell you a story they experienced. The characters in this story are more than believable. The two main characters Julius and Chloe are the easiest ones to relate to. Especially since we are currently in our senior year of high school and are looking into and applying to colleges. Julius and Chloe both attended a weekend open house at a school they were both interested in. They enjoyed the school and each others company as well. After they return home to finish up their last year of highschool they keep in touch with each other via email. Both have tough decisions based on family influence.
Julius' mother would rather have him go to an in state college so he could be closer to her and Chloe's parents are to wrapped up in their almost never ending romance to care what their daughter decides. Basically it all comes down to them deciding what they truly want and making it happen regardless of any interferences.
These two characters remind me of myself, my friends, and peers because we too are struggling to make good decisions about college that will ultimately effect our future. Its stressful but like Julius and Chloe we have to learn to deal with it and ignore distractions.
Stories like this that are more up to date with technology and day to day situations are easier to relate to because we actually know what their talking about and sometime are going through the same things. I think i will enjoy continuing to read and finishing up this book.

Heart On my Sleeve
My book was originally Life is Funny by Ellen Wittlinger but the more i read it the more boring it got. Im now reading Heart on My Sleeve by Ellen Wittlinger. It caught my attention from the first page. Its about Two highschool students on opposite sides of the U.S that are looking into colleges they would like to attend and meet up at an open house. The book goes throught how the two keep in touch and talks about what each goes through in their lives.
I like this book because it tells the story though emails, instant messages and notes sent through the mail. It makes it more interesting and helps me relate more to the story than if it were to just go through a series of conversations between characters. It also makes it easier to understand who's saying what and who their saying it to. I'm pretty sure i'll get throught this book pretty quickly because its interesting and keeps my attention after every page.

The Hatchet is a book of resemblance, because there are so many things you may relate to.Brian(the main character),his parents have went through one of the biggest reasons for a young kid to go crazy''DIVORCE''.Brian is devistated and knows a secret that has to do with his mom and a blonde haired man.Beyond his parents split he has to visit his father in Alaska every summer.I love this because I know what he is going through at a certain extent because my parents were once together but now are apart. The feeling of once having a full family and seeing it be ripped apart by secrets and problems. But this book shows what it is like to have to go through that pain. Also there is a suprising twist while he's traveling to visit his father.Through the time i've been reading and how far i've got the book is alright and I can relate to some/most of what he's going through.
The book I am reading is called''HATCHET'' the book is very interesting so far.The main character in the story is named Brian he's in his younger teens and he going to alaska to visit his distant father.
I like this book so far because i believe that if i was in his position i would be the same way. Also the book demonstrates one of my favorite genres ACTION.!!!!!!!!

perks of being a wallflower
Throughout this book their are many characters being disguised. This process leads to an attempt of figureing out who the author of the letters are. Chbolsky uses code names to stop the reader from learning who he is, Which was one thing mentioned by the author in the beginning. In the very first letter, one character was simply SHE. But in th next letter, SHE, got a name. I think that such clues leading to the authors identity in the story will arise only if all identities (HE'S & SHE'S)are discovered. Reading The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is, for me, is like eating stawberry shortcake... Not really, but it is a good book written by Steven Chbolsky. In fact the stories so good that i could keep writting about it... But I've decided to leave some room for my fellow bloggers. Tony.F 4/5

Blackys Character
My point of view on the character blacky, is that he is very naive and gullable. He deals with bad people on daily basis either at school or when he comes home. The only one who keeps him going is his brother, cheetle who is 9 but is the only one who has the intelligence of an articulate adult in the household. His sister is constantly stealing or smoking drugs, though blacky knows this he still treats shay as his big sister. His mom works tidiously day and night, which is why shes never home. So Blacky must continue to strive for greatness even though hatred and ignorance constantly gets in his way. Blacky is like the average 11 year old , but he carries a HUGE load on his shoulder that he doesnt even realize hes carrying. The author uses extroadinary language, which shows a 11 years olds true colors.

The book "The Perks of Being a wallfower", by Steve Chbosky(think thats his name), is about letters written to an unannounced someone that "doesnt sleep with everybody they can." I've read about nine letters so far. Most of the letters deal with gosip at this [writers] school.
I like the book so far. It's not about some smuck... Well it is, but for the first time, I've read a book I can sit through. The letters, instead of chapters ease the brain.

little chicago
The name of the book that I am reading is called " little chicago" written by Adam Rapp. It is about a boy who is a victim of repeat molestation. He finds himself in the woods running without anything on except a wet newspaper. He later finds out that the people he thought was his friend REALLY arent. whats even more scary is having to tell wat happened to the police all over again.
I like this book because it gets straight to the point, right when you open the first page. which is one of the reasons why I cant seem to put this book down.
