Final Reflection [the conclusion to "how does hip hop music effect society"
This being my final reflection i'm going to start by using one of the first quotes i found at the beginning of my search. "Music has a significant effect on it's listeners. It is used to inform the masses. It can influence the way we dance, dress, talk, and it also so sets the tone for cultures." {wiki answers} Okay so does this mean that Hip Hop music is resposible for alot of the violent acts that are commited like alot of critics say?
Well this is what i found in my search. My essential question started out as "How does music affect society" but later turned into "How does Hip Hop music affect society. Heres what i found. Music, especially Hip Hop music has a great effect on its listeners today. However it has different effects on different people. Everyone responds to things in different ways. Music is something you expierence. Some soak it all in, some hear it and forget it, and some let the lyrics influence the actions of their own life, and so on.
One of the most important things I figured out, but basically already knew was that everyone has the right and power to make their own decisions. We as humans have been given the ability to tell right from wrong, good from bad, and use that information to make the choices that effect our life the most. Some people's will power isn't as strong as others because of the way they were brought up or for whatever reason. This is why the world is full of all different kinds of people, good and bad, with all different kinds of personalities.
The above being said, a genre of music certainly cannot be blamed for the actions of able bodied, thinking human beings. Hip Hop is one of the most criticized genres of music because it is so often blamed for the violence only a few of its listeners commit. This is deffinately and completely unfair. This is like saying that a whole school is bad because a few students cause trouble. It's sad to stay but many times a group of people get looked down upon because of the actions of a few. This really should and needs to be changed. It would completely change society's outlook on the world. We have to learn how to distinguish people from eachother. We can't lump everyone together, because that's where steriotyping comes from.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed my search because I love Hip Hop and hate to see it put down because of a some individuals bad choices. If i didn't make the answer to my question clear here it is. Hip Hop music effects everyone differently. It is enjoyed and loved by many, critisized by some, and some could care less. Also even though music is a powerful thing and does speak to the mind, it has no barring on the actions of those that listen to it. So instead of downing something you are unfamiliar with, try something new and if you dont like it then stick to what you know and leave the rest alone.
My Final Reflection: where does Common Sense derive
The art of common sense! Useing common sense everyday of your life is important. In fact, I would think its the practical thing to do. Believe it or not, we all can answer a variety of the questions we ask ourselves, and the questions asked of us! In previous posts, Ive referred to mechanisms of common sense... All they are for is specification. Meaning that they provide an answer to the why. Why is your conclusion logical, and explain your analysis? Logic derives from your common sense. Which means that common sense should provide logic. Looking both ways before you cross a street provides logic. The Reasoning answers why! Any Knowledge you have can lead you towards the correct interpretations. An observation can teach you, and your thought process is your Introspection.
Conceptualization... This is not only what is specified, but also the common sense itself. The concept that you shouldn't cross the street without looking both ways, is specified by the reasoning that if you do cross without looking, a car could run you over. Thats merely why you do not cross the street without looking first. In which clearly proves that common sense derived from the analysis (in which was gathered by useing ontology). And your analysis is a philosophy... However the philosophy, is the specification of the concept.
Philosophy... This method of organizing information is where common sense derives. You cannot use common sense before you have an opinion, or philosophy, that puts logic into the idea of looking both ways... And the reason that philosophy is involved is because you must cunclude by yourself. Your very own thought process is the main component that forces a philosophy out of the thing between our ears! That is why common sense derives from philosophy.
Without the philosophy... well, in this case common sense would not be reliable. You would look both ways, and do it without reason... The only way you could learn not to touch a pot on the stove is by touching it first; Because you lack the philosophy [that was gathered through thought process] that concludes you could burn yourself, by touching that hot pot! The philosophy behind the concept is like the hunter and gatherer of common sense. Without philosophy, common sense is illogical. Becoming two words on some old guys bumper sticker. Without the philosophy involved with common sense, Thomas Piane wouldnt have been capable of writting the book "Common Sense". And considering that the book pursuaded revolution quite well, its safe to assume that common sense without philosophy wouldve halted the American Revolution dramatically... But that's a little far out.
Common sense derives from your philosophy... This conclusion is logical not because I said so, and not because anyone else said so. This conclusion is based upon all my reasoning and thought process. Common sense is is meant to be logical. That view leaves for the requirement of an analysis, in which creates your philosophical expression of the reasoning you went through! This means that all the reasoning creates the concept, and the concept is common sense. Common sense derives from your philosophy because the logic is neccasary and proper.
The reason I choose to answer this question is because I had a goal... My mission was to pursuade my audience to use common sense on a daily basis. After reading this, I want you to comprehend that the art of common sense is merely the art of providing logic to your decisions, and chioces. And I feel that if I can complete that mission, and all my audience members were to pass on this view, then the world may be a more common sensible domain. We shall all use common sense our own way, But when you realize how it's used, you shall use common sense in a logical mannor. Provide yourself with the integrity that comes from useing the art of common sense... Be in the abstract, and try to understand whats going on around you.

Final Reflection- What can we do about political corruption?
After searching for weeks, I havent quite been as successful as one should. Considering the amount of time I had to do this project;it was extremely hard. My essential question was successfull at slowing me down and almost causing me to just completley give up. But as a real english honors student would, I kept goin and continued my quest to my essential answer. Though it was a flop (lol) I still found out some things that I never knew before. like consequences, definitions and reasons for such behavior. During my search I found out that political corruption actually does have punishments but if so why does it still exist? Because the consequences arent harsh enough, their needs to needs to be more force and fear in th government system. At the moment it is a joke, politicians

Mainstream Hip Hop Shows A Misinterpretation of Masculinity
Or is there?? How could we turn tracks like this into better music for listeners all over?
"When I met you last night baby
Before you opened up your gap
I had respect for ya lady
But now I take it all back"
-- Snoop Doggy Dogg
"From the window to the wall
To the sweat drop down my ba**s
All you b**ches crawl"
-- Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz
"Man this h*e you can have her,
when I'm done I ain't gon keep her
Man, b**ches come and go, every ni**a pimpin know"
-- 50 Cent
If this is what people think masculinity is about they are sadly mistaken. Yes, men are supposed to be strong [thats what makes them men], however does degrading women and acting violent for no reason make them strong. I think it makes them the complete opposite. Men that have to show off by treating women like dirt or wanting to be violent for little to no reason at all are pretty much WEAK! Showing off isnt just shown in actions either, artists who are violent or degrading in their lyrics are also showing off. "As they say actions speak louder than words." However words sometimes influence actions.
Certain songs with lyrics such as these mess it up for the whole genre because critics hear that they automatically think Hip Hop is bad. There are so many talented artists in the music industry that can accomplish so much with the power they have with words but they throw it all away on what they think[or the record company thinks] will sell the best. It seems that when an artist first hits the music scene and they make all these obsene tracks they come out on top but when they really come into their own and make good music the fans seem to fall off. Dont get me wrong im not saying that artists shouldnt talk about their personal lives or expierences which sometimes could appear obsene, but they could go about talking about it in a better way. If the fans are loyal enough they would stick around to hear the betterment of the Hip Hop industry.
Heres an example of a more recent popular song that instead of degrading women praises her good qualities and shows her love:
"Think about a certain... certain somebody
That perfect somebody sexy purple body
She got service road curves and highway eyes
The road to her soul, just follow the road signs
And holla if you hear me I love it when she near me
I hate when she away and satan see the day
That hell freeze over me for I let her go" -lil wayne
As far as Hip Hop influencing the actions of society goes it may have some effect but not as much as people think. Yes, Hip Hop artists tend to set trends that are easily followed by its listeners but its of the listeners own free choice. Same goes with violent and dangerous actions that may be suggested by an artists lyrics or the artist him/her self. People have to make their own descions and a genre of music should not be blamed or penalized for individuals stupid mistakes.
The real question now is how can we bring a good message through a genre of music that so many love? Some have already accompished this but so much more can be done. Can we rise to this challenge to create a great change?Sood, Suemedha. "Beyond Beats and Rhymes: Masculinity in Hip Hop." wiretap.org 01 03 2005 21 May 2008

Final Reflection-Whats Your Choice
Do you wanna be all you can be? Yea I hear that alot on t.v.,the radio, and even in the schools hallways on my way to lunch. Yea the army's a cool place if your into the protecting your country thing but there are things behind the military that you may not know. I was doing some research and the military isn't whats its all cracked up to be. You do have the training and the whole army fatigue thing but just because you signed up don't mean your in an army of one. There are actual requirements to make the cut. One requirement is a high school diploma or a G.E.D.(Big suprise),another is age, physical demands(yes you have to meet their standards). Also since you signed up don't mean you get gun training and get sent to battle. Now lets say you do get in and you take the opportunity to go. First your gonna take the ASVAB(ARMED SERVICE VOCATIONAL APTITUDE BATTERY)this is a test to see what job is best for you. Yeah I said it the best JOB for you. The military isn't just war and shooting they have individual jobs for people to work and make money. But there are some downfalls like you do get a compensation worth $99,000 dollars. But 60% goes toward your housing your food and your retirement money. So your left with a manageable $46,262 dollars ,also YOU CAN DIE. That's manageable money to make or a price to pay..... but why go through all this? Well in my studies I found out that some people go because that's the only way they see out of their household or situation, some go to defend their country, some go because parent went and they want to follow their footsteps,or one of the biggest is that they are going because of the money so the can pay for college(Yahoo).
The only way to succeed and have a bright future is through education. This quote is the most important quote I know because it drove me to do my best and to achieve higher than I ever thought possible. "SIKE" I hear this alto also because its my senior year and colleges are trying to reach out so students can apply and maybe even attend the higher education facility. But also like the military there are some background and a groundbreaking course that you must follow. First you must Find out what college(s) you want to attend. Second you must Apply to those college(s) & Apply for financial aid & tap(unless you wanna pay for it yourself). You have to Find scholarships and wait for acceptances. You must Get acceptances,Choose what college you wanna attend,Pay college entrance fees,Do paperwork. And lastly one of the most important things GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL. These are the things I had to go through. And just for thought what if you don't get accepted to the school you wanted to attend? But its all about bettering yourself and making sure that you have a future. But on the other hand why do people attend this dreadful place that charge you thousands of dollars a year just to learn. Well like I said college will change you in so many ways(take it from me I've seen it first hand). Because when in high school you have to wake up in the morning, get ready, get to school on time, and attend class or there are penalties such as detention, suspension, etc. But in college you get the whole freedom package(unless you live at home and your mom makes you get up). You get ready when you want and go to class when you please, but class do have times they start and end. Going to college isn't just parties and chilling ITS HARD WORK. But if you graduate you have made your print in society and may have secured your place in the biggest force in the U.S. the workforce.
In retrospect just to inform I choose college because of the idea of mine just to keep coming to school instead of going to the army and risking my life just to go to college. Now don't get me wrong if you wanna go to the army then be my guess. That's another thing just because someone doesn't agree with the choices you make, don't just give up and try to change your life(only if its for the better). People are always gonna pressure you to make decisions even in high school from your freshman year to your senior year. Its nothing to stress about, you just have to take your time and make sure the decision you make is what you really want. That's what life is all about "THE DECISIONS WE MAKE". But your future depends on your decision after high school. So what will it be "Seniors" COLLEGE OR THE ARMY?

Ontology, and common sense blog 4
First we shall notice the word conceptualization. What does that mean? Well, the word isnt incoherent in any way. But at times, Ive stated that its neccesary to be in the abstract to grasp my intellect. Anything thats assumed to exist in some area of interest is conceptualization (what is ontology). It is most certianly not a guess, and if you feel you should consider it in that way, than call it an educated guess. Conceptualization is catagorized by the concepts from your thought process. Because ontology is the specification of what is assumed, basically.
Specification. A word that derrives from specify! Specification is the addition of logic, reasoning, and any other reflex used when your asked to specify an issue. Its the answer you come up with when referring to the why thats involved. If you speak frequently about George W Bush's stupidity, and I were to ask you why, and specifically why, then I'd expect a logical answer. In finding your answer, you could rely on your knowledge of the war, and how pointless it is, and why. You may even refer to that wonderful smerk that he always ends his speeches with. Maybe you'll consider to flip the table and ask me why he isnt stupid, and I would most certainly feel free to rely on the knowledge I have about George Bush to expose him for how stupid he really is. And the art of doing such is specification! Without specification, your analysis, and conclusion of the issue may not be common sensible reality.
I have frequently refered to common sense as an art! By now, you ought to comprehend the meaning for that. I call it the art of common sense not just because it is uncommon; However because its a skill, just as kung fu is. A kung fu expert will rely on his knowledge of combat to fight. If he or she is in a position thats new, then his or her knowledge guides them towards the knowledge of what to do to stay on top of the fight. In the same way, my knowledge of U.S gov't and politics could guide me through certain aspects that may be new to me. In fact, on the AP gov't and politics exam (may fifth), I knew what a fiscal policy was, because I knew about new federalism, and the fact that it was also known as fiscal federalism. That knowledge was used as a background, to help me conclude just what fiscal policy was! And that my friend is how the art of common sense is used!
Lets say however, that I was unaware of new federalism. I would have had a harder time concluding its meaning. I would'nt be able to recall on a reliable source of knowledge, but I could read the question deeper, hope to comprehend all other aspects, and use logical reasoning and intellect to discover the meaning of the word! But of coarse common sense has it's limits. Its always safe to assume, when you can specify. But when you cant specify, then your conclusion isnt logical. If you cant logically answer the question of "why did you assume?," then your common sensible reality will tell you that your probably wrong, because your reasoning cant contradict the fact that you are wrong! without the background, you introspect upon what YOU conclude after self examination of the issue!
Introspection, believe it or not is closer to ontology, than a knowledgeable background. Ontology is the method of finding the first philosophy. You assume it is there, reason why its there, how it became such, when it happened, what it does, etc. In which is all conceptualization. But its of immense importance to reason logically! That would be the specification. Ontology is the proofreader of common sensible reality. If you use it, you'll have a logical answer, or you'll learn that you simply dont know. Either way, there is most certainly more to common sense that meets the eye when you elaborate upon it. I do use such methods when I use my common sense, but I dont think about ontology, or reasoning, or logic... I just use them naturally. And when you dont, your answers could lie in an uncommon sensible domain. This is why Ontology is an important mechanism of common sense, in which deserved its own blog. And the reason I say such is because you must specify your conceptualization (thought process).
Basically, when you use the mechanisms I refer to in my second blog (mechanisms of common sense) to analyze the thought process, You are using ontology, considering that those mechanisms are used to specify, and help provide logical conclusions and/or answers. And considering that the methods of ontology are the methods of philosophy (what is ontology), than I'll assume that philosophy is kinda like a driver of common sense. Thus, all decisions of your own common sense derives from your own philosophy!

Poll Results Say That....
"Al Sharpton and other skeptics argue that there's a correlation between hip-hop and acts of violence--that rap music often glorifies criminality and engenders feuds, sometimes with bloody consequences. So, should hip-hop be held accountable for violence? Nearly 50% of our voters say "No way, Jose."
Here's the complete breakdown of poll results:
- No, hip-hop is not responsible for violence - (534) - 47%
- Hip-hop contributes to violence a bit - (336) - 29%
- Hip-hop and violence go hand in hand - (115) - 10%
- Hip-hop is just another word for violence - (64) - 5%
- Parents are responsible for hip-hop related violence - (47) - 4%
- I don't know - (33) - 2%" (Adaso )
As the results above show most do not think Hip Hop music is responsible for violent activities and i agree. People were given freedom of choice for a reason so that they can be resposible for THEIR OWN actions that THEY descided to make. Yes music is a big influence but like all influence wether it be from peers, friends, tv and/or music, you have the ability to choose wether or not to follow that influence!

THE PRICE OF AN EDUCATION COMPARED TO A LIFE OF ARMY EXPERIENCE
("www.earnmydegree.com/online-education/learning-center/education-value.html")
this website gave me the info I was searching for.
THE AVERAGE ANNUAL EARNINGS OF A:
.person with some college(non graduate)-$36,800
.person with associates degree -$38,200
.person with bachelors degree -$52,200
.person with masters degree -$62,300
So we got college out the way here comes the army.I did the same thing searching wise for the army earnings.I found out that army soldiers get something called a compensation which is worth $99,000.I found this info at the wesite
("www.goarmy.com/benefits/total_compensation.jsp").
This compensation is cool and all but there's one little problem, the compensation is 60 worth of non cash benefits which leaves army soldiers with about $46,262.But this compensation includes healthcare, retirement pay, childcare, etc. So which one would you rather have....?
Personally I would rather take the college road but thats just me...!!!!

How Music Affects Society Has Turned Into How Hip Hop Music Affects Society.
As i continue my research i am getting closer and closer to finding the answer to my question. People have many different views on wether hip hop music as a genre and a lifestyle is effecting the public in a positive or negative way. Some say that over the years people have gotten sick of hip hop because it has become so negative. As a result record sales for hip hop artists has dropped dramatically. (msnbc ) However there are still millions of fans that will stick to what they know. Most songs out now a days talk about one of three topics : sex, drugs and violence. How does this alone effect our society? Let alone the actions of the artists that make the music. Some of these same artists are the people that we look up to as role models. If they make certain mistakes it makes it harder for their loyal listeners to think that what their doing is all that bad. "Studies have attempted to link it to everything from teen drug use to increased sexual activity among young girls."(msnbc ) However can we really link such things to a genre of music??
Hip Hop & Rap is most often downed for degrading women and portraying violence in its lyrics. However their are many great artists that talk about other things and stick to the basics that made this genre great in the first place. This whole negative outlook on hip hop can be turned around and used for the bettering man kind.
Hip Hop has so many listeners and so many fans. Why couldn't we reach them about how certain aspects of hip hop our negative through the genre that they love : hip hop. I mean seriously should a whole genre, a whole aspect of a culture be thrown away because a few people mad mistakes in their musical careers??
Thinking about that will help find an answer to the essential question.

What Ive learned about Common Sense... blog 3
How does someone use common sense? This is a reasonable question to ask. Considering we as human beings communicate on a daily basis, It should make for a swell example. Your very own introspection is what leads to your conclusion of a person after communication. And your own views dictate your introspection. But your unique common sensible reality is what dictates your views however; derives from the knowledge you've obtained throughout your unique life. Thus, everybody uses common sense in a unique way, in which a person obtains only through the knowledge they USE. Everyone uses common sense through the inferences they conclude towards, and the conclusion gets its authenticity from the individuals logic and knowledge. When considering that there's a large amount of knowledge in the world, there's a good probability that some knowledge at the least is common knowledge we all have. Which is why common sense is called common sense.
In contrast however, Ive heard an argument that common sense cant be learned as knowledge... That common sense is a natural thing that we all have [or at least should]. Also that it's something you cant teach (Billy M). After considering this view, I'd have to disagree, and Ill explain with the most common sensible example in the world [since streets were paved anyway]. Its common sense for anyone to look both ways before they cross a street. At least it is for those who can read well. But what I am saying is that I don't trust my niece crossing the street alone, without learning to look both ways first. And common sensibly, I wouldn't expect her to look both ways without learning to do so. Thus, common sense can be learned, and any argument against that would naturally have to be more in depth than the rather simple "yes you can, and this is why speech". And the reason for that is all the contradicting evidence held against the "no you cant learn common sense argument". All the evidence derives from the fact that looking both ways before crossing really is common sense that you've truly learned first. You learn something new everyday, don't forget that!
How can you expand your common sense. This one I promise you, is hard to explain. I mean sure, using common sense is as simple as using your head, but using it in stronger ways is the reason to expand it. The best way to expand your common sense is to rely on it. Use it everyday knowingly, and comprehend your unique way of using common sense. As the first paragraph explains, the common sense I'm going on about is more or so an advanced common sense. In a sense, It's philosophy. When you use your common sense in area's in which you only have a small background of knowledge on, the conclusion your common sense comes up with is indeed, a philosophy. And in order to come up with a philosophy, you must be in the abstract. Aristotle's students referred to ontology as The first philosophy. Ontology is a method of in depth clarification of the introspection (thoughts) you have. Your overall philosophy must be in the abstract, which means that your philosophy overall must be analyzed in depth. The methods of ontology are the methods of philosophy (what is ontology). Thus and therefore, common sense is directly linked to philosophy through their backgrounds. In which refers to logic, reasoning, introspection, knowledge, etc. In a sense, common sense derives from philosophy! And thats the conclusion of the day!

Mechanisms of common sense... blog 2
Reasoning is a mental process... Basically, you look for the reasons that can help you believe, if it's something you hear about, or conclude if it's something asked of you. This aspect of common sense is mainly what directs your chioces. When you make a chioce without reasoning, then your reasoning was merely to not reason. What are the consequences, the pros, the cons, etc. There's a reason for everything. Amongst resoning, your believing such, or your concluded opinion, still leaves a desire for LOGIC. Which means that a logical answer is the one you accept.
logic is a serious utility when harnessing common sense. Without useing it, your chioce could put you in an unlogical domain, where you would then relize, and learn, in which helps you gain knowledge. Logic involves thought that involves thinking in a step by step mannor about how a problem can be solved (wikipedia). When you reason logically, your reasoning in an intelligent mannor. Thats also how you raise a philosophy, but thats later.
Another sourceful mechanism of common sense is OBSERVATION. In which is information you recieve through your five senses (taste, smell, see, hear, or feel). Amongst recieving the information, you "filter" it into thought process (wikipedia). Any observation could lead to any thought, but the thought should be analyzed by rational. The worlds greatest example is when you touch something hot, such as a pot on the stove. And even though you touched it after mom told you not to, we wont go there; However that observation leads you to gain knowledge, and aqiure a reliable source of common sense to utilize. Mainly refering to the fact that you shouldnt touch pots on the stove.
INTROSPECTION... A key element in the art of common sense, and maybe even kung fu as well, but probably not! All these here mechanisms, report to your brain. Knowledge is used, or gain when you practice the art of common sense. When useing the art of common sense, you harness your reasoning through logical thought process. Itrospection is a self examination, or inspection of ones thoughts (wikipedia). Such inspection can only derrive from reasoning, and logic. Thats why introspection is a mechanism of common sense as well as reasoning and logic; However, introspection is mainly used with more significance when you lack reliable knowlege. Instead, you refer to your in some cases, more reliable logic and reasoning. And thats introspection at its least, because it gets deeper when observations are utilized...
Thus and therefore, common sense is much more than common if it's used while utilizing these methods. In a sense you come up with a logical philosophy, simply by useing common sense to your advantage! I can see thats its hard to understand, But you must be in the abstract to do so. Any issue you come across can be solved through the art of common sense. Ask yourself any inquirical question, such as: How can I make myself better, and you will use logic, reason, observation, and your overall knowledge of yourself... And introspection would play a bigger role if you dont have any knowledge of yourself, But also be able to expand your knowledge of yourself. And of coarse, all these mechanisms are merly reflexes that could go unnoticed, but overall are utilized when you use your common sense. I can truely find no better way to conclude this session than with this quote...
"To act with common sense, according to the moment, is the best wisdom I know; and the best philosophy, to do one's duties, take the world as it comes, submit respectivly to one's lot, bless the goodness that has given us so much happiness with it, whatever it is, and despise affectation." THE ARMY EFFECTS
.Ronald Brisbon is a Persian Gulf War veteran. After suffering a heart attack, Brisbon says he was no longer able to perform manual labor, which was required in his former job. He later lost his job and, as a result, his job-sponsored health benefits. Brisbon now spends his time researching benefits that might be available to him through the Department of Veterans Affairs.

After battling substance abuse, Robinson says "an inability to grasp responsibilities" led him to a life on the street. The veteran admits to having been too proud to ask for help.

Music's Effects on Our Society: The Search Begins
Music has a sort of power over us like nothing else. "Music has a significant affect on its listeners. it is used to inform the masses. music can influence the way we dance, dress, talk and it also sets the tone for cultures."
(wiki answers ) I think that this is a wide open statement and should be broken down more so that my question can reach out to people on an individual level. Plato says that " If you want to measure the spiritual depth of society, make sure to mark it's music." From what i've learned so far i have descided to base my question on a particular genre, most likely hip hop or rock and see where it takes me from there because how one genre affects society can be completely different from how another one does.

MY RESEARCH ON COLLEGE V.S. THE ARMY
How can one develop common sense...blog 1
Reasons such as taxation without representation made British colonist's say things like "give me liberty or give me death." At the time ( 1770's), it was common sense that the king wasn't treating the colonist like British citizens, thus revolution was inevitable. And due to the lack of representation that the colonist's had, they lost love for their mother country. "Common Sense" was based on Thomas Paines' common sensible reality, and forced people to choose to believe, or argue against. Common sense is mutual in a sense, because it's to be shared by most people, and Paine used that to his advantage. He forced people to adopt his reasoning as thier own through literature. The example amplifying that argument is the road to revolution period in the America's.
That particular time period was a time of protest in which many colonist's shared the same views, and held the same knowledge, and knew that certain issues needed clarification. Issues such as representation in Parliment, taxes and high tariff's, strict trade policies, etc! Thomas Paine wrote the book to explain to colonist's what the common sense was at the time, and used his logic to back his reasoning, in which made the common sense he expressed trustworthy because it was logical to agree with, unlike the kings high tax policies, and quartering (station a soldier in a citizens house). And thats how common sense becomes mutual. The same way a boss mutually understands' his workers capabilities, and talents. You common sensibly send the right man for the job... Common sense is simply developed through your reasoning of an issue.

My research on political corruption-
introduction.
It helps me when i'm in a bad mood or when i'm in an extremely good mood or when i'm just mellowed out. There's a song for basically any type of situation or mood that you are in. This is why I descided to find out how the muscians that make the music effect us as human beings and our society as a whole. I mean if i listen to music on a regular basis I should atleast know what kind of effects it's having on me. Right?
I already know that I like music and basically need it to survive, but what i dont know is if
the music that i listen to and the musicians that make it are a good influence on me or anyone else for that matter. I know that certain songs can turn my bad mood around and make me more hyper and energetic and that other songs can make me reminess and put me in some what of a bad mood but is this a good or a bad thing?? Should our emotions be effected by the music we listen to? Then again any situation we are in or anything we expierence can effect our mood and influence our descions.
That said, the essential question that i have chosen is "Does music and the actions of the musicians who make it have any influence on the choices that our society makes ??"

Introduction
My moms only dream was for me to be successful in life.So I thrive to get where her dreams take place. But to accomplish what needs to be done I have to complete high school & college.High school is almost over and my decision has been made but I do have other options. My choice is college but there are other choices such as trades(plumbing, carpentry, sheet metal)but the other option is THE ARMY.They say the army is for the proud & the brave and college is for smart or rich people. But I always wanted to know "WHICH LIFE CHOICE IS MORE REWARDING AFTER HIGH SCHOOL......ARMY OR COLLEGE?We all know that college is for furthering your education and almost putting yourself ahead of the pack when it comes job time and it helps to have a furthered education. But on the flip side the army is for the strong individuals who are fighting for our country to keep us ahead of the competition in global affairs.

"A NEW BOOK HAS ARRIVED"
PG.121-188
So far the book has been alright overall, but over the last couple chapters there has been some twist and turns.Enders getting older and is still isolated from his family while the person he loved the most is starting a relationship with the person they both used to hate the most. While Ender is at battle school working and pushing himself to succeed and stay at the top of his game and facing responsibilities as a commander, Valentine has been working with Peter on getting attention from the government. They were using local issues in two perspectives in order to make it to the chat room with the top dogs so they can get their point out about a possible Russian attack.this book is very exciting now that these things are heating up.
What would you do if your best friend began a relationship with your worst enemy?

Everything seems more exciting and eventful because it is told from the main character Titus' point of view.
pages 87-112.
From Titus' point of view the characters in this story have gone through so much
but have dealt with it extremely well for their age. The way he explains its almost like
their lives are one big adventure. First they all travel to the moon to explore,
then their feeds are taken over by a protester and they are sent to the hospital, and
then they all find out that their new friend violet that they met on the moon is out to
change the world. Of course through all these exciting times they had their downfalls as
well but they didn't seem as dramatic because of Titus' very up beat personality. His outlook
is always very positive. I'm not saying he's naive and doesn't know whats going on around him
and thats why he's so positive. No. Not at all. He approaches things with an open mind and
makes reading this book from his point of view enjoyable. Plus the fact that when a story is told by one very outgoing person it makes you feel more like you're experiencing the story rather
than just reading it.
Think about it which story would you rather hear, one that your boring uncle tells you or one
that one of your crazy, outgoing friends does ?
When the feeds were shut off because of malfuctioning and the kids were stuck in the hospital they still made the best of it.
Pages 60 - 86.
While the kids were on the moon, a liberal was protesting the feeds and caused a malfunction in them.
It almost gave them a virus that caused them to go hay-wire. Because of this everyone was "shut off" and
taken to the hospital so that tests could be run and things could be returned to "normal." The feeds not
only semi-control the kid's minds but they also bring them entertainment. Our forms of watching television, surfing the internet, instant messaging, talking on the phone and even shopping is included in their feeds.
So you can imagine how boring it would be sitting up in a hospital room with absolutely nothing to do.
Titus and his friends however made the best out of it though. They came up with their own games using materials from inside the hospital rooms and had long conversations about what they would be doing when everything was back to normal. Even though these kids are in a different time period and in different circumstances than we can get into they still teach us a lesson. Whatever situations we get into, when we make the best out of things we are better off then if we complain the whole time.
I mean wouldn't you rather be positive than sit there and feel sorry for yourself ?
The characters personalities break through even thought their minds are being controlled by the government....
pages 40-60
Despite the fact that everyone has a computer "the feed" inside their head telling them what to do, the characters distinct personalities still seem to show regardless. Especially the main character named Titus. He seems to be one of those kids that can see through everyone and tell how they really are. He relates to his friends and peers very well and seems like kind of a problem solver. Titus is a smart, well mannered young man who can be shy at times but once he gets comfortable in a situation, he seems to be the one that everyone comes to for help and advice. Contrary to my previous post, characters like Titus and his friends Link, Loga, Calista, Quendy, and his love interest Violet dont go around acting like mindless drones as you might think because they have "the feed"in their head. Calista and Quendy tend to be the jealous ones that gossip alot about everyone around them. Loga however tends to just go with the flow and she's more of a peace maker. When the other girls argue she gets in between and shows them how silly they're acting. Violet has a mind of her own. She wasnt brought up with the same
schooling as the others. She was home schooled and her style and personality is more of what
she likes rather than what the "latest" fashions on the feed are. This is why i believe Titus likes
Violet, it's because even though she too has a feed now she maintains her individuality and almost has her own mind. If feeds or something like them ever occur in the future, i hope we too can maintain our individuality.
The original is always better than a copy, right or wrong?

A LESSON WELL LEARNED ) THE BOY WHO REVERSED HIMSELF
PAGES 1-175 FINISHED!!!
The book has taken an immense turn into the world known as fantasy, the characters become more interesting. But one character who quickly learns that you never push for somewthing that isnt their is Heather. What I mean when I say that is that Heather constantly bugged omar about his secret and no matter how many times he said no she still insisted that she should know. She was told to never say anything to any one , but now she has to pay the price her and pete are now in an unfamiliar world called 3d. Which shows things in weird way, they appear as one thing then the next minute they are something else. But Heather has to find a way out of 3d, world without the creatures follwing them back to the real world. It isnt easy though the two are put through vigorous test by the unfamiliar creatures to see if they can understand their language. In the end their is only one way out and that is to get Omar to help them. In the end he comes and saves the both of them, but Heather learns a big lesson, to just leave some things alone.
WOULD YOU EVER BE INTERESTED TO ENTER ANOTHER WORLD OF LIFE, FANTASY OR MAYBE EVEN 3D?
This book in my opinion has alot of good parts that stick out and you remember, such as time being a 4rth demension, or the explanations of the time machines ability. Wells wrote a great book SO FAR, but all of a sudden, the time machines lost, and the fell of the book is lost... What Im saying is that without the time machine, this book has a seperate feel to it. Yeah sure, theres suspense waiting for the time machine to return, but the suspense I read (if it were a tempo describing my inertest) is very low on my richter scale. At one point he found a fossil in which he could use as a candle... That isnt really the suspense I was hoping for. But the Morlocks closeing in "upon" him as the book says, just so happens to interest me, but if they (morlocks) dont get there soon, Im rootin' against the time traveler. I think its time for the suspense to come back. Im suprised that I gave the book such a chance while I read around 3 chapters in which lacked a time machine.

CHOICE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH- THE BOY WHO REVERSED HIMSELF
Heather has now revealed a secret so bad that if known it could threaten her life as well as the world. She didnt realize the definition of the term 3d at first but as she pulls pete into this dangerous new world, she as well as he,slowly learns their lesson. The book now starts to turn into a different place, heather and pete are now in a 3d world but learns that they have no way back into the real world. Because of heathers ignorance the two are now stuck in a unknown world , and the only way out it is to hope omar can notice them. Until then the two struggle to get a loose of this new place but , they are confronted by unearthly creatures. They two are unfamilar with pete and heather but the four are in a battle to get info out the other to go to the place they need to be. Until heather makes a choice to risk killinh her self to get omars attention.
WOULD YOU CHOOSE LIFE OVER DEATH TO GET OUT OF A SITUATION?
Enders Game
Pg.59-Pg.121
So far in the book Ender is maturing rapidly and is catching my attention that he is becoming more self confident.I thought that Ender would always be the little shy kid who never shows a manly or couragious side to prove to everyone he's not what they think. But he's proving me wrong.Ender is starting to catch on to people but is learning to let them go instead of holding on to the past.Ender in my opinion is a very strong smart kid who is being forced to make decisions and is being put in the spotlight because they believe he is some type of prodigy. My life and the main character's life is starting to be compatible because we both have expectations that has to be met.Like I have to graduate high school and Ender has to get through battle school. Also me and Ender have to get past who we care about because of what has to be done.
What type of things have you had to give up because of expectations or something else important?

Finding Out The Unthinkable (The Boy Who Reversed Himself)
pages 70- 125
This book has put me into a world by far the most complicated ever. The sophistication of this book makes you want to read more because you constantly wondering what is actually going on. Omar comes off as a weird and and secretive person, who is always looking obvious of doing wrong. When omar starts talkin to his neighbor Heather he realizes that this was a bad idea and it could cost him his knowlegde of the unthinkable and maybe even his life. Heather constantly manipulates omar to retreive this so secretive information, Omar being so unpopular and gullable gives in. When Heather finds out the info shes tattered up inside to find out she must NEVER do such a thing. When she tells Peter, everything change for the three of them.
Should someone push to for something that should be LEFT ALONE, or seek until it is found?

Time Machine 2
The whole piont to this scientific fiction is hard to realize. Every book has a meaning, and every book has at least three themes. Im not trying to find themes in the book, but wheres the meaning of it. My question brought me to the summary at the books back cover. Which in return asked if its thought that time travel (like space travel) will one day occur... Honestly I dont believe that, because we can see space, but not time, and ya gotta see it to believe it.
The Time Machine by H.G Wells is not only sciene fiction, but also a mystery. I never seen the movie, so I relie on the book to answer questions. But in order to do that, you must read previous pages. But I dont often do that, so I keep reading ahead... And I think that the books reasoning is: When thou travels time for real, they only do it TWICE. The way there, and the way back! TONY F

Feed By M.T. Anderson
The authors view of how life will be in the future is very different but also very possible.
We have become so reliant on computers and different forms of technology that the old ways we used
to do things will become quite foreign to us. In the book all the people live in space and have a kind of computer called a
feed implanted into their brain. They control the computer with their mind or rather the computer controls their mind.
Its hard to tell which. The news, what to wear and basically any question that they need answered is brought to them within a matter of seconds. The computer inside their head knows what they want before they do and its almost kinda scary. I mean when you think about it, is this really what our future is going to be like? A computer does the thinking for us. This cant possibly allow any creativity or individualism what so ever. Also the fact that in the future the government filters what goes through thier computers, basically filtering what they can think, and when someone thinks differently they "shut them off" like a piece of machinery it seems kind of scary. Is This what is gonna happen later on ? We are goin to become a bunch of mindless drones submiting to the government or rather forced to submit? Thats crazy. We can never let this happen.

Enders Game
Have you ever wanted attention and act like you didnt want it so you can have it?Thats whats my character is like. His names Ender he's 6 with an older sister(Valentine),an older brother(Peter)and a personality like he was an infant. He is very isolated until he is freed from his protection and have to face the real world at his current age. He's givin a decision that will place him out of his normal world and into a world of responsibility and toughness.Ender is a very emotional person,he cries to release the pain inside because of his status in society. He was born a third(nothing special just the third child of the family)but the problem is,in the future that isnt the best kind of family to have.Ender isnt anything like me because he shows weakness inside by crying and not showing his manly or social side until he meets Shen.In my mind you should meet people and try to have a regular or multi crew to hang with so you can meet and greet new people.
How do you react to new things going on in your pesonal life?

Immense Turn For The Worst(The Boy Who Reversed Himself) William Sleator
After reading more and more of this book its beggining to become confusing at some parts. I still try too comprehend what is being read, Im slowly but surely making progress. The setting of the story takes place in a 3d and 4d world, where theirs creatures gloating around changing every second. But not just anyone can tap into this world, you have to have had experience or enter it with someone who knows about it. Omar who lives next door from heather is considered to be pretty weird at school, and at home. Heather becomes drawn to Omars behavior and wants to know whats really wrong with him. When things start happening to Heather she starts to get angry and confused, every thing begins to reverse. One day Omar reverses her homework back, and this is where the whole story takes an immense turn for the worst.

Time Machine, by H.g Wells.
In terms of the genre, this book seems to be a good science fiction piece so far, but it's very much so more scientifical, than fictional. And the fact that Wells had the type of imagination that can come up with a 4rth demension on a 3D figure, and its the time demension. I dont really think its possibal to determine... Yeah, a 2D figure has a findable 3rd demension(follow me), but it has more than one... And theres no way youll find more than one 4rth demension, if you even find any. Therefore Wells thoery is mathamatically incorrect. However the genre of science fiction shall make you think past your bottom. That should be a characteristic of science fiction.
When I finish reading this book Ill probably be smarter. All the scientific properties can jumble your brain if you dont think about it. And the more people think, the smarter they become. I'm not sure what Ill think about, but I sure hope its interesting. With the impression that the book left on me, I think it will be interesting. Log off
